In October 2015, Outdoor Sportsman Group met with Donald Trump Jr. to discuss his passion for the outdoor lifestyle and how he might become involved in the worlds of Outdoor Television, Print and Lifestyle Entertainment. What followed in the ensuing months helped bring Outdoor Sportsman Group – Networks (Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network) into the national spotlight and build brand recognition beyond anything they could’ve dreamed of as a newly formed entity less than two years old.

By aligning their departments – communications, digital and integrated media – and working as one team, OSG collectively capitalized on creating awareness for their networks, programming and talent, as well as the online and magazine publishing titles. This spirited session will share the experiences and offer insight into how a small independent group of networks and a niche outdoor lifestyle group of magazines were able to corral access to support the outdoor lifestyle message with one of the biggest developing stories of the year – the rise of presumptive GOP presidential candidate Donald J. Trump.

Following this discussion, you will gain an understanding on how to successfully:

  • Align your company’s assets in a cohesive, well-fashioned team in order to help expose your brand
  • Communicate a story in a controlled, branded message
  • Overcome the obstacles of last minute deal-breakers, behind-the-scenes management of top level executives and leveraging your brand exposure
